Performance
Since the early 1980’s, Willy has read or performed spoken word at universities, conferences, large community events, bookstores, libraries, and bars in the San Francisco Bay Area and across the country. In 1995 Willy debuted his solo show "Born on the Edge of Race and Gender" at Brava Theater in San Francisco. Other venues include Lambda Library Sacramento (Poet of the Month), Creating Change (annual conference of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, Milwaukee and Portland), La Peña (Berkeley), UC Berkeley, UC Santa Cruz, Mills College, Modern Times and Different Light Bookstores (San Francisco), Asian and Pacific Islander Queer Women and Transgender Coalition annual Lunar New Year Banquets in San Francisco and Oakland, National Women’s Studies Association conference (New York), and El Rio (San Francisco).
